For he past few years I looked forward to a few months in Florida and then coming home in early March to a Hershey outing. This year states are somewhere in the hinterlands of the Commonwealth. I will not be returning home to embark on a four or five hour drive. Could someone please explain why the venue change and what might be in store for the coming years. Thanks.
The article I found stated that the Giant Center didn't bid on the team championships. It also explained why they are only taking 8 teams for AAA and that's why there is a off site bout tonight with the teams that even came in first in their district.
Individual Pennsylvania State Tournament should have one mat for the FINALS wherever wrestled. New Jersey format for their High School state finals matches are magical compared to the PIAA watered down multiple mats which confuses mat fan awareness.

The schedule is the issue. There just isn't time to get all the matches done to go to 1 mat finals. I'd like them to do it too but they either have to go to a venue that can handle 8 mats, eliminate some consolation rounds, or make the brackets smaller. People would go crazy if they did either of those last 2 options. So the only realistic option is a different venue, but there aren't many that are interested in hosting... and very few that are centrally located in the state.
Has any team in District One wrestled Obama Academy from your recollect Mike?
I don't believe any teams have faced Obama Academy since the school was founded. From what I can tell based on the results we have (which are far from complete)... no District 1 team has wrestled any of the Pittsburgh city schools (District 8) in a dual meet.
