Unfortunately there is more sad news from the District 1 wrestling coaching ranks...it's been a rough few weeks.

Arty Erle, head coach at Marple Newtown, passed away earlier today due to complications from his 2nd liver transplant.  His 2nd liver transplant came from Tommy Ellis.

Arty was an assistant coach at Interboro for several years before taking over at Marple Newtown ahead of the 2019-20 season.  He's been the head coach there for the past 5 seasons.

When additional info is available, including info on services for Arty, I'll post something here.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Here is Arty's obituary:

Visitation: Wednesday September 4 th 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Kovacs Lombardo Funeral Home 530 W. Woodland Ave. Springfield and Thursday September 5 th 9:30 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church 136 Saxer Ave. Springfield.

Funeral Mass: Thursday September 5 th 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church. 

Interment: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery 

In honor of Arty's love for the Eagles, please feel free to wear something Eagles-themed if you attend. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the following organizations that were special to him:
