Dear Coaches,

 Martin Luther King HS (District 12 AAA) with the sponsorship of Beat the Streets Philadelphia, we have ran a pooled dual meet tournament for the past two seasons. However, with the implementation of the new PIAA rule limiting the number of "pooled" style tournaments for the upcoming season, we are changing format to a bracketed team tournament and expanding the field from 10 to 16 teams. This will not count as a "pooled" event.  We would like to invite your team to attend. Below are the tournament specifics. Please contact me via email at dfcastell@philasd.org if you are interested in attending and I will forward your email information to our tournament director, Chris Hanlon (chanson@btsphilly.org), so that he can provide you with an official registration form. Last years field featured several PIAA and National Prep place winners. The Cougar Duals is a great tune up for the post season. 

Date: 2/6/16

Location: Martin Luther King HS 6100 Stenton Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19138

Tournament Format: Bracketed Dual Meet Tournament. Wrestling back to 16th place. 

PIAA Competition Pt. Value: 3 points (for 4 matches)

Cost: $250 all checks should be made payable to - Beat the Streets Philadelphia

Awards: Top 4 team Finishes and OW Award

Wrestling on 5 mats!

2015 Participants: Martin Luther King (D12), St. Joes Prep (D12), Malvern Prep(Nat. Prep), Neshaminy (D1), Penn Wood HS (D1), Wyoming Valley West HS (D2), JP McCaskey HS (D3), Shippensburg HS (D3), Twin Valley HS (D3), and Wilson Area HS (D11)
          * All 2015 participants have already received invitations and I am waiting for replays

Confirmed Teams for 2016 as of today 3/29/15: King, Malvern Prep, Octorara Area HS, and Twin Valley HS, St. Joe's Prep, Springside Chestnut Hill Acdemy
