Alfred State College Assistant Coach Wanted

OFFICIAL TITLE: Assistant Wrestling Coach 

SCHOOL: Alfred State College SUNY

LOCATION: Sothern Tier of Western New York

SALARY: A 6-month season offering a $5,000 stipend and a SUNY tuition wavier for a professional part-time staff position in Intercollegiate Athletics. Applicant will be able to seek outside full/part-time employment around coaching duties.

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES: Individual hired will have opportunity to enroll in SUNY Graduate Level course work (online and/or summer sessions) free of charge.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of sports is essential, as is a proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented setting. Must have strong moral character, work ethic, leadership, and communication skills. A commitment to athletic excellence within an academic environment. Must be able to drive school vehicle if needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prior successful playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

DUTIES:
- Assist the head coach in running a highly competitive program within the guidelines of the University, the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference (ECWC), and NCAA Division III.
- Assist in the planning and direction of practices, matches and team events.
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of quality student athletes consistent with the standards of the University.
- Aid in the development of student-athletes.
- Assist with program revenue generation related to the program.
- Assume other duties as agreed upon by the Head Coach.
