Susquehanna Twp Middle School Head Coach

The Head Boys Middle School Wrestling Coach organizes and conducts the weekly practice plan, motivates the student-athletes to push each other and be good sportsman, and implements a match strategy focusing on the individual wrestler’s best techniques. As a member of the Athletic Department, the successful candidate should be deeply committed to the entire student-athlete experience. This position will work actively work with Middle School principal and teachers to recruit new wrestlers, while also ensuring the current team members are remaining current on their eligibility.

Responsibilities:

Complies fully with all USA Wrestling, National Prep, and Susquehanna Township Athletic Department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Develops a competitively successful wrestling team to represent Susquehanna Township positively and responsibly.

Provides student-athletes the opportunity to participate in a culture in which they can achieve their academic, athletic, and personal goals.

Develops instructional plans for individual student-athletes and the entire team, ensuring that special needs and issues as identified by the coaching staff are addressed.

Provides leadership and instruction in the athletic development of student-athletes by counseling team members in academic, sportsmanship, and personal matters, as needed.

Organizes and manages assigned recruiting efforts and administrative responsibilities.

Represents the team, department, and school in a positive, professional, and ethical manner; responds appropriately to media, marketing, fundraising and community service requests, as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must have prior high school wrestling experiences, preferably having competed at the Collegiate wrestling level.

Preferred freestyle or Greco-Roman wrestling competition experience.

Excellent organizational and practice plan competence, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Prior working knowledge of weight loss management and descent plans.

Experience in running wrestling tournaments at all levels.

Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure.

Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally for competitions.
