The Pennsylvania Regional Training Center launches the program this Sunday. The RTC Program operates out of the Upenn Wrestling room in Philadelphia. This is free for those who have or are a qualified wrestler. Interested in joining this great opportunity please check out the details here.

PRTC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM LAUNCH
 

Sunday March 29, 2015; 11:00 am - 1:00 pm - Sunday March 29, 2015; 11:00 am - 1:00 pm - U Penn Wrestling Room - TSE PING & CHENG CHEUNG LING Sports Center - 219 South 33rd St, Philadelphia PA 19104: This development program is designed to pave the pathway of success and help fulfill Olympic dreams for wrestlers grades 8-12 who want to train and compete in Freestyle and/or Greco-Roman wrestling.

 
Invitees - To be eligible to participate you must live within 250 miles of University City in Philadelphia, PA 19104 and meet one of the following performance criteria: 1) Top 4 at USAW State Cadet/Junior Freestyle/Greco-Roman championships, 2) Top 4 at Prep National or High School State Championships, 3) Top 8 USAW Cadet/Junior Freestyle/Greco-Roman National Championships (Fargo, ND). If qualified, wrestlers will have the opportunity to train with the best wrestlers at all levels in the wrestling rooms at the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University. Criteria is determined by USA Wrestling.

What to expect - Participants will build on their existing skill set of advanced wrestling fundamentals by committing themselves to advanced technical development, drilling/sparring, and competitive live wrestling. Each wrestler will achieve a higher level of knowledge in the sport through an exposure to techniques and training styles that are currently used at the elite levels of high school, collegiate and international wrestling. They will experience training sessions that are very focused and challenging, while in an environment that will increase physical capabilities, as well as mental toughness. These organized practices will hone in on Freestyle wrestling techniques, strategies, and tactics to prepare wrestlers for success at the numerous state, regional, national, and international competitions at the Cadet and Junior levels. The program will continue each Sunday moving forward throughout the spring and summer.
