Initial brackets are up on FloArena. Keep in mind, they will likely change. I'll post changes in this thread.

Results will be on FloArena within minutes of the bouts being completed.

Sean Logue is not allowed to wrestle?  Crooked Philadelphia public league and catholic league is a joke.  Screwing kids is their intention

160 could have been won by a Freshman from George Washington, but he didn't even get into the tournament, What a shame....... Potential state qualifier has to sit out

Artem Skyba  160 pounder for GW  wrestled his first match last night.  Also where is Sean Logue?  Rerturning state placer, senior year and he is not in D12?

Skyba is entered at 160 and it would appear sean logue is injured since he did not wrestle last week.

Did a bunch of wrestlers from Belmont transfer into Overbrook this season?

Belmont Charter administration or whatever they are called shut sports down this year so since they are a charter school state law allows the wrestlers to compete for their neighborhood school which for many of them is Overbrook.

Low Single - how can one determine if a kid is a state qualifier after his first match freshmen year? Especially in PA. I’m sure Pabon-Williams  will have something to say about that this Saturday as well as a host of D11,2,and 1 160 pounders he needs to defeat before he even sniffs Hershey. I wish the kid to the best in his career but to say this kids a state qualifier after one match is like Uncle Rico telling Napoleon Dynamite he can throw a football over them mountains.

As for your comments about the PCL and the Pub screwing over kids, I invite you to come work with us and see what we do everyday.

I believe LowSingle was referring to Sean Logue as a state placer finishing 7th at Hershey last year at 106. He is also only a junior so he should be back next year!

Did you ever see me throw a football?  Look, I don't know any kids in this district at 160 besides Artem.  I was a little excited with my comment.  Seeing him wrestle for the last 5 years and knowing his talent emboldened me to make such a prediction.  Artem is a potential state qualifier, most likely not this year with the revised tournament setups and his lack of wrestling this season.  I would bet he will be on the podium at Hershey in his career.  I'm glad he got in.

As for my comments about the PCL and PBL i feel there was definitely some shady politics going on.  How can a decision to use the PCL championship for seeding purposes be made after the tournament was over.  There were kids that sat out to stay healthy for districts and were not made aware of that "rule".  It is taking away opportunities from kids in a year where there aren't many.  I have been involved with wrestling since 1980 so I am very aware of what goes on everyday in the sport.  I have also been involved in many seeding meetings.  Sorry for the rant, and good luck this weekend.

It's going to be interesting to see whether you got a good eye LowSingle, because this is a kid with literally no track record the general public can see.

Why aren't there any Judge wrestlers in the bracket?

I have been told this is so the PCL and Public have even number of matches against each other in the first round. PLEASE tell me this isn’t true. A kid works hard to be #1 and then you pull this feel good crap? So after first round are you going to step in and re-seed? How about seed and assign byes the way it has always been done. Or better yet, why not skip the tourney and just email the kids you like and send them to regions?

The brackets are built the same way every year. Usually it's 4 kids from PCL and 4 from PPL. The placement in their respective league tourney dictates their placement in the D12 bracket. PPL didn't have a tournament, so they took all of their entries and seeded them the best they could for placement into the appropriate spots in the bracket. The wrestler at the top of the bracket is alternated each weight. Both brackets have the exact same match ups.

Here are what the two different brackets look like.

C1 vs P4
P2 vs C3

C2 vs P3
P1 vs C4

OR

P1 vs C4
C2 vs P3

P2 vs C3
C1 vs P4

Now I feel bad putting a target on his back.  Super humble nice young man, I hope he proves me right.
I really don't know much about any of the other 160 lbers, other than what I can view on here.  How many make it to Regions from D12?

Shouldn't feel too bad, you gave me someone to root for. Not like anyone on here is going to make fun of him after the fact. Even if he doesn't advance he's got 3 years ahead of him. For clarification the top 3 wrestlers of d12 make it to Regionals this year. Usually its top 5.

Does top 3 advance to regionals?

Top 3 from District 12 advance to the regionals but does anyone know how many advance to the super regionals ??  It's going to be very challenging no matter the number obviously.   I believe District 11 is in day two of their tournament as we speak.

3 D12
3 D11
2 D2

Top 4 at NE Regional advance to super regional ag 4 SE(D1) qualifiers. 4 of 8 from super regionals to states.

So I am looking at NE Regionals... Bethlehem Catholic, clearly one of best teams always, has kids at every weight except 172, 215 & 285... D11 notoriously dominates the Region. In a short season it is impossible to know who is a threat to come out of Regionals to Super Regionals. Can someone give me a quick breakdown of the region? Who do you think advances to Super regions? Especially who has best shot from D12 to make it and maybe a bold prediction on who makes it to states from D12.

My two guesses are Regan Loughney (172) and John Colbourne (189). My bold prediction is that 4 wrestlers will make the Super Region. At least one will make it, but I'm not banking on more than that.

Lex... how about a breakdown of top wrestler or wrestlers at each weight that have best chance to advance? My coaching experience in past was D3 and D1 but i often pull for D12 kids who came up through BTS and local Philly area rooms!
The way the brackets look D11 kids will cannibalize at least 1 kid at each weight leaving 2 maybe 3 spots. Again I’m only going on historical info from my knowledge of D11. Hope some local kids have opportunity to move on! Good luck to the young men and their programs!

Since District 12 started participating in the northeast region, I have not seen any D-12 freshmen make it to states.

When D-12 had 70 wrestlers go to the region, they never got more than 6 qualifiers.

District 11 sent at least 40 of 56 in previous years.

It is a tough tournament.  Easton, Nazareth, Becahai, Northampton, Parkland...

Last year, 8 District 12 champs stepped on the mat against the 3rd and 4th place wrestlers from 11 and 2.   8 champs all lost their opening match.

Loss 4-0, Loss Tech Fall, Loss 12-6, Loss Tech Fall, Loss Fall, Loss 3-1, Loss 19-11, Loss 10-0.

12 District 12 runner-ups lost their opening matches, and half were against the District 11 5th place.

District 12 160 weight class had 3 kids with no record this year.  The runner up from Overbrook was at regions last year as a 120 pounds.  He got pinned in 10 seconds in his first match.

So a freshman won a 4 man bracket with only one kid that had a match before the tournament.

He now is going into a bracket with the returning state runner-up.  If he survives tomorrow, he is gonna get the best of that region again and district 1 before he gets to states this year.

Right now, I like Lucko's odds of advancing the most. He's actually got a really crisp path. I meant to say something earlier but never got the chance, but that 152 bracket is not particularly strong from D11 and pretty weak from d2. It'd be nice for Central to send someone. Anyone from D12 has the opportunity though i should add.

Looks like the Loughney prediction was a good one.  He beat both D2 kids in his bracket.  His wins make up two of the 4 wins for D12 against District 2.  Burns advances and is the only D12 wrestler to have beaten a District 11 kid.

5 wins and 75 losses against the kids from the other districts.

District 11 4th place who got added to the bracket late made it out in 138.

I guess I had a decent read on Artem's ability.  Look for Skyba to improve again and be a state qualifier this season, 21-22

He is very talented but there  you go again putting a target on his back lol.  It will be very interesting to see how much he can progress with a longer season with more matches to develop.
