Minor change in plans...  I had originally said the interviews with the championship winning coaches wouldn't be out until 3 PM today.  They are now posted.

Glenn's interview with Faith Christian head coach Ben Clymer:

AAA championship final with #1 Council Rock South and #2 Spring-Ford:

Just a note, we had some technical issue during the 182 pound bout (laptop locked up).  At about 38 seconds into that bout the video stops and it picks up a few seconds later with just 13 second left in the bout.  The audio returns about 40 seconds into the 195 pound bout.

Took a look at past results to see how the seeding has gone versus the actual results over the course of the 21 years of the District 1 Duals.  (These are all for AAA only.)

The lowest seeded team to win the championship was #3 seeded Boyertown in 2010.

The #1 seed has won the title in 18 of the 21 years.  Twice the #2 seed won (2009 Quakertown and 2017 Council Rock South).  Plus the #3 seed won once (2010 Boyertown).

Nine times a #3 seed made it to the finals - the lowest seed to make it to the finals.

The lowest seeded team to qualify for the state duals was the #7 seed, which Council Rock North actually did twice.  First in 2006, when they finished 3rd (of the 3 to qualify) and again in in 2012 when they finished 4th (the 2nd year D1 sent 4).

Seems the seeding process has been pretty good over the years.

for the top 3-4 teams, not terribly difficult to seed in most years.   it's from 5-16 (sometimes 24 a few years ago) where it looks a bit iffy.

At least they don't use a formula like most other districts use.
