Hopefully everyone gets out to one of the season opening events.  I'll be at the PJP II tournament.  Can't wait!

Hopefully I can make it there as well, in time to catch the 182 lb weight class. Leaving at 5 from Lower Bucks to head there, will be no easy task.

Well. Just pulled into the Pope John Paul parking lot. Damn tournament is over for the day

You would think they would keep going and chip away at the wrestlebacks.

Sorry you missed your son wrestle.

Finishing by 6:45 gets the wrestlers home at a decent time, get a good night sleep, then back for 7:00am weigh-ins.

Full day of wrestling tomorrow with semis on 3 mats, consi's on 2 mats, starting around 8:45 - depends how long the 8:00 mass takes - and some good mat time for the JV kids - most, if not all, will get 3 bouts. Finals should go off around 3pm, or so.

All kidding aside. Awesome that it wrapped up so fast. One of the biggest complaints people have, is the length of tournaments. To be able to get through the first two rounds in two hours is awesome!!!

Good luck to everyone tomorrow.

Dang, the semi-finals at 113 lasted a total of 31 seconds.  That's two bouts.  ouch.

One loss and your day was over. Every team wrestler had matches on Saturday. Thought is was a good idea. Most kids who are out on Friday don't show up for Saturday matches to offer their support for their team.

It also gets the younger kids used to weighing in on multiple days.  This is part of the reasoning behind not doing a consy round the first night of a 2 day tournament opening weekend of the season.

Why did Patrick Gould not wrestle the second day of the Solanco tournament? Did he miss weight?

From what I understand, there was a problem with weigh-ins. They didn't stamp Gould's hand. Later the coaches found out he was a scratch and they were blindsided. They tried to talk with the director and referee that weighed him in, but they wouldn't change their mind. Sloppy job it sounds like, losing the marquee wrestler of the tournament.
