I could easily see Boyertown take 10 to Hershey this year. What is the record for number of state qualifiers from a single team?

Not sure of the answer for district 1 teams.

For AA I think 3 years ago Becahi qualified 12 wrestlers.

For AAA last season Becahi qualified 11.  There was a also AAA Northampton team from around 2004 that qualified 11.

Here are the teams that have had 10 or more qualifiers...

12 - Bethlehem Catholic (2013 AA)
11 - Bethlehem Catholic (2014 AA)
11 - Bethlehem Catholic (2015 AAA)
11 - Northampton (2004 AAA)
10 - Bald Eagle Area (1997 AAA)
10 - Bethlehem Catholic (2012 AA)
10 - Nazareth (2006 AAA)
10 - Northampton (2008 AAA)

Most in District 1 history...

8 - Upper Perkiomen (2005 AAA)
7 - Boyertown (2006 AAA)
7 - Council Rock (1977 AAA)
7 - Spring-Ford (2015 AAA)
7 - Upper Perkiomen (2004 AAA)
7 - Upper Perkiomen (2006 AAA)
6 - happened 9 times

This should probably be a page in the states history section of the site.  Thanks for the idea!

Ew Ew, how about # of State Medals for a School in one year.
That should be an interesting one.

The teams with the most state medalists in one year were (I think)
   2004  Northampton    10 Medals!!!
   2006  Northampton      8 Medals
   2001  Nazareth             8 Medals
   2012  Canon Mac           8 Medals  --- 1 of each!

District 1
    2006  Upper Perk          5 Medals
    2015  Boyertown          5 Medals

Before 1997 or thereabouts they only gave out 6 places, so there were likely fewer medals won.

Can you imagine the Northampton team with 10 Medals?  And most of those guys put you to sleep.  They all wrestled the edge of the mat constantly and looked at scoring points as a necessary evil.  Except Joey Ecklof.  He was great to watch.

One pretty cool statistic is:  Boyertown has 5 returning state place winners.  How likely is that?  I can tell you that's it's a District 1 first ever.

They are only slightly overwhelmed by BECAHI, who has only 4 returning place winners, but 10 returning state qualifiers.

Who cares what BECA does as a team. Team accomplishments are absolutely irrelevant for them.

Cuz they're a prep school recruiting talent from all over and playing by completely different rules than almost everyone they compete against. Their kids deserve credit for the individual success but I hardly think it's much to be proud of by winning a state title against teams that aren't able to build a team like them.

I agree with you charles. As individuals it doesnt really matter but as a team its a lot different. It would be cool to have league teams in a dual tourney. Now that would be fun and bring in a lot of people and possibly revenue.
You cant teach heart.!!!!!
