Curious as to why it's only two teams in D1 AA for the last couple years? Is that all they allow?

Only 2 schools applied for the Duals in AA.
And this year it's only District 1 schools... the D1 champ hosts the D12 AA champ on Monday night in a state duals match. Winner of that goes to Hershey for the rest of the state duals.

| Thanks for the clarification, I did think it was weird that Egan did not enter, they will have some good matches with Faith. For the original question - the only AA district 1 teams are Bristol, Church Farm School, Faith Christian, PJP, New Hope, Springfield Twp. 2 teams entered is actually a higher percentage of the total teams than 16 teams is in AAA. It is part of the reason the FCA movement works - very few teams are impacted and they can basically guarantee the team makes it to Hershey (at least that has been the case since they could field a full roster).

One change has been made to the bracket...
The match between #7 Kennett and #10 Perkiomen Valley will now take place on Thursday night at 7 PM. Originally it was planned for Friday.
The brackets have been updated.

Nice, and Carroll being back also makes Q-Town a tough out as well. That will be a great dual if it happens.

[QUOTE=mo bloodyoung] The year of the PAC is here
I like the optimism. But isn't almost every year, the year of PAC? In 10 of the last 11 years a PAC team has been in the finals with 7 Champions.
But things can be deceiving. Is the PAC usually leading the way? I would guess that the PAC Liberty and the SOL Patriot are the 2 leading divisions and it's not even close.
Maybe I will do a deep dive into it.
I could see it being SF vs PV in the final if Kakos is back and can wrestle as he can. OJR will have its handful with WCH, it is a matchup nightmare for them - but if OJR can get by WCH - it matches up really well with CRS and it will be a very close match.

Historically speaking the PAC has been a top 2 league in District 1, especially team-wise. Because the talent from the PAC is typically clustered from 3 teams, it hasn’t always been a top 2 league individually. The 3-4 years prior to Covid, the Ches-Mont was No. 2 behind the SOL, but the PAC has bounced back and passed the CM again. Everything ebbs and flows except Council Rock South.

Upper Perk makes a return after several years off. They have some young talent. It's been a long time since they could compete with the big PAC schools but maybe they can claw their way back up the next few years.

Going on record for round 1 before the video drops.
1. CR South vs. 16. Upper Perk Should be some competitive matches through 145. South is probably just better in almost all those weights - UP should win 127. Two forfeits in the upper weights makes the score more lopsided in the end. CR South wins 50-15.
8. OJR vs. 9. WC Henderson Potentially disastrous draw for OJR. If this dual starts at 107 it could be over before Gautreau gets to wrestle. Can OJR keep it close enough from 107-133, and then come close to running the table from 139 while bumping Gautreau up to McMonagle? That includes beating Cortese and being the underdog at HWT. That is a lot of stuff that needs to go right. I think Henderson is going to squeak this out. WCH wins 33-27.
5. Boyertown vs. 12. DTown West If Boyertown capitalizes on their advantages at the lower weights, they should have enough to keep this comfortable. If this dual starts at 215 and they find themselves down 18-0 (which is possible) after 107 then they will really have to earn it with a lot of pressure. I think they will handle it. Boyertown wins 33-27.
4. Spring-Ford vs. 13. Conestoga If SF plays this by the book and does not bump the Smiths, they will be heavily favored at 6 weights and should win by pin in all of them. Conestoga would have to win at 121, 133 and 160-HWT with 5 pins. This match is similar to the Perk Valley one that just happened and the final score will be similar as well - SF will contain damage in their losses and probably win one or two of the toss ups. Good experience for Stoga team that has some good pieces coming back next year. SF wins 39 - 22.
3. Pennridge vs 14. Strath Haven I can see SH winning 5, maybe a chance of 6 wins. Can they get big bonus points and save some where we do not expect? I think they will get some pins, but they will give away just as many. This is another matchup that could look really scary if it starts in the right place - for this one, that would be at 189. Pennridge 42 - 24.
6. Quakertown vs. 11. Pennsbury Qtown should win all the team races in the individual season. That does not change the fact they are a flawed dual team, very similar to CR North a few years ago. Here is the recipe for a Pennsbury win Thursday: Pennsbury out scores QTown from 107-133. Can they do it? Honestly, I do not know - my guess is that they have to control Ziegler and/or win at 114 to have a chance. 107 looks like it is more competitive than I would have thought a month ago. What I am sure of is that QTown should win 139-152 by 15+ points (with Carroll at 139 and Gaj at 145) and Pennsbury is capable of equaling or exceeding that margin from 160-HWT. QTown will have to decide if Borzio takes the points at 152 or goes up to 160. I think they will need him to bump. Who is available for Pennsbury at 145 and 152? Should be exciting! Pennsbury 31-30
7. Kennett vs. 10. Perk Valley Is Kakos actually back? If so that is great for D1 individual medal chances in Hershey. Is their full lineup intact from 152-HWT with Kakos, 2 Pascoes and 3 Eukers? There are a ton of teams they can beat with that lineup in the top 8. Unfortunately Kennett is probably the worst possible matchup for even a possibly full strength PV. Kennett has a sizable advantage from 121-145, 160, 215 and HWT are all toss ups that lean Kennett. That does not leave a lot of room to maximize bonus points to sneak a win. PV would have to be full strength, win toss ups, and do a better job saving points that they did against SF. My prediction assumes full strength PV. Kennett wins 36-30.
2. Sun Valley vs. 15. CB South Sun Valley is versatile enough to match up well with everyone in the district. They are going to be a very tough out this year. Full strength Perk Valley could give them trouble in this side of the bracket, but I think they have a pretty good road to the final. CB South has some good wrestlers and should win some matches but bonus points are going to be hard to come by. SV should find plenty. Sun Valley wins 48-12

It wouldn't surprise me to see Conestoga upset Spring-Ford. I could see them getting a lot of pins, especially at the heavier weights. They have been a very surprising team all year with an outstanding new coach. I strongly agree with your prediction of WCH over OJR. I do not think that OJR can keep it close from 107-133.
