Boyertown approves girls wrestling

Boyertown officially approved the creation of a girls wrestling program at tonight's school board meeting.  They are the 2nd program in District 1 to officially start a girls team, with several more close to getting approval.

It's the 44th program in the state to start a team and the 3rd in the last 2 days.  PIAA wants at least 100 to sanction the sport.

Souderton was the first team correct? Didn't Truman approve a girls team? Wouldn't that make Boyertown the 3rd team in District 1?

Souderton was the first, that's correct.


The article mentions it still needs to be officially approved by their school board, which is expected in June.  I believe their next meeting is at the end of June.
