Here are a list of the D1 wrestlers (boys & girls) and some other southeast pa guys going to Fargo for the Jr and 16u championships that start this weekend.
To qualify for Fargo you had to be top 6 at Northeast regionals or top 4 in the state the tournament. If I missed any please add them in (especially the younger men and women). B. Saddridinov is in the finals at 16U 160
Alex Diaz loses 12-1 in the QF, Gauge Botero loses 8-6 to Anthony Knox in the semis at 120 and Colin Gaj loses 6-6 in the semis at 145

D1 had some very strong performances against some of the best talent in the Country. At the Males cadet level, D1 had 4 place winners!
- The highlight is of course Bekhruz Sadriddinov winning the 170lb bracket! That is a huge accomplishment! - rising sophomore Collin Gaj to 3rd in one of the deepest brackets at 145. - rising sophomore Gauge Botero also to 3rd in the 120lb weight class. - rising freshman Kole Davidheiser took 5th. Incoming freshmen Dean Bechtold and Alex Diaz also had very strong tournaments. I believe all 3 (Collin, Gauge, Kole) will again be able to wrestle Cadets again next year. So with the 2 women and 4 men d1 has 6 AA. That's a really strong showing. Congrats all. |

Based on the what I could find between the brackets and a list that PA Power posted for the PA participants...
For Boys 16U Freestyle, PA had 73 wrestlers competing with 16 placing. Of those 16, 5 are from District 1 schools (grades listed for the 2022-23 season): 94 lbs - Kole Davidheiser, 9th, Faith Christian - 5th place 120 lbs - Gauge Botero, 10th, Faith Christian - 3rd place 145 lbs - Collin Gaj, 10th, Quakertown, 3rd place 160 lbs - Bekhruz Sadriddinov, 11th, Council Rock South, 1st place 182 lbs - Adam Waters, 9th, Faith Christian, 3rd place 11 wrestlers from District 1 competed but did not place. For Girls 16U, PA had 29 wrestlers competing with 8 placing - 2 from District 1. 122 lbs - Haylie Jaffe, 11th, Kennett - 3rd place 132 lbs - Isabella Dias, 11th, Harry S. Truman - 7th place For Boys Junior Freestyle, PA had 61 wrestlers competing with 8 placing - none from District 1. For Girls Junior, PA had 36 wrestlers competing - still going on.

Sadriddinov's semi-final bout with the kid from NJ was awesome. He was down 8-1 before he just took over the match. Suddenly he was ahead 11-8. Then I guess he decked him. It looked like it to me, but the FLO announcer in the finals said he won 14-11, I think. Someone clue me in.
